All Hallows is the Guild Church of Toc H. This was founded in Poperinge, six miles from Ypres, by Tubby Clayton (the Revd. P.B. Clayton) in a house called Talbot House as a place of respite for soldiers of all ranks. In signallers’ jargon, Talbot House became known as Toc H.
All Hallows is the oldest parish church in the City, founded by Erkenwald, Bishop of London, towards the end of the seventh century.
Many of those executed on Tower Hill were buried in the All Hallows graveyard.
Pepys watched the Great Fire of London from its tower.
