Church kneelers at

All Saints

Brandeston, Suffolk

Church kneelers lead off with a wreathed shield dedicated to All Saints, the church’s Patrons.  The emblems of many saints follow.  The first represent three of the Evangelists and the two Apostles, James the Greater and James the Less.  Then comes St Cecilia.  The remaining saints, represented by flowers, conveniently give their names.

A gawky dove from the Ark tries to pick up an olive branch.  Traditional Christian symbols include ships, fish and anchors.  Local buildings and farm animals are shown among birds and flowers.

On the final page are tributes to the Royal Engineers, the Ghurkas and the RAF.
